<li>When cold, rub half a pound of butter with two pounds of flour, make a hole in the centre, pour in the milk, with as much carbonate of soda as would lie upon a sixpence, and a couple of eggs.</li>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<li>Mix the whole into a smooth paste, lay it out upon your baking-sheet in whatever flat shapes you please, and bake them in a very warm oven. The proper way to shape these biscuits is by wooden blocks having pineapples, leaves, and other devices carved on them.</li>

Combine homemade bisquick and milk. Knead lightly on floured board. Roll 1/2-inch thick; cut and place on ungreased baking sheet.

<ol>
<li>Cream butter and cream cheese with electric <a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007Y3A9C?tag=oldtimcoorec-20&amp;camp=0&amp;creative=0&amp;linkCode=as1&amp;creativeASIN=B0007Y3A9C&amp;adid=16DYTHSPRCNY3J7X11DP&amp;" target="_blank">mixer</a>, sift flour and salt together, and stir in lemon zest. With a wooden spoon blend in flour. When well blended dough will be sticky, form dough into ball and refrigerate for 30 minutes.</li>
<li>Cut dough into 3 pieces and turn out onto floured surface. Roll each piece to 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick, cut into 3 inch squares. Put 1 tsp apricot preserves into center of each square. Brush edges of squares with egg whites, which have been beaten to a slight foam. Fold dough corners to center , covering apricot, and squeeze seams together. Brush with egg whites and sprinkle lightly with granulated sugar.</li>
<li>On an ungreased cookie sheet place pillows an inch apart. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.</li>
<li>Use care and do not overfill, cool on rack.
<p>This is a melt in your mouth cookie. Receipe was brought from Holland by my great grandmother.</li>

1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted<br />
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder<br />

Preparation:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Preheat oven to 450 F (230 C).</li>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<li>Mix <a href="../canning_and_preserving/homemade_bisquick_mix_recipe.html">homemade bisquick</a>, milk, cheese, sugar and italian seasonings until a soft dough forms. Do not over knead the dough!</li>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<li>Drop dough by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet or into 10-12 paper-lined muffin tins.</li>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<li>Combine butter and garlic powder and brush over biscuits.</li>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<li>Bake 8-10 min. or until golden brown.</li>
