Ingredients:
SAUERKRAUT AND MEAT FILLING:
15 ounces sauerkraut, finely chopped; drained and rinsed
8 ounces cabbage, shredded
1/2 lb meat, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
8 ounces mushrooms, chopped
pepper
CHEESSE AND POTATO FILLING:
1 heaping cup mashed potatoes
1 cup dry cottage cheese, drain, then pat dry
Salt and pepper to taste
Finely chopped chives or onions
Preparation:
- SAUERKRAUT AND MEAT FILLING: Fry meat until done and set aside. Mix remaining filling ingredients and fry for 5 minutes. Combine mixture with meat. Cool before filling pierogi.
- CHEESSE AND POTATO FILLING: Mix together and fill pierogi.
