Ingredients:
500 g (1 lb.) lasagna noodles
MEAT SAUCE :
1 onion, chopped
500 g (1 lb.)ground beef
2-3 cups tomato sauce
salt, pepper
1 tsp. oregano
½ tsp. allspice
WHITE SAUCE:
3 cups italian béchamel sauce (white sauce)
400 g (0.9 lb) cheddar cheese, shredded
Preparation:
- Cook lasagna noodles. Drain and rinse.
- For meat sauce: Brown onions and ground beef in skillet, drain off fat. Season with salt, pepper, oregano and allspice. Add tomato sauce, simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir together béchamel sauce and 300 g (10 oz) cheddar cheese.
- Layer noodles, meat sauce, béchamel sauce in a lasagna pan. Repeat. Top with layer of lasagna and remaining béchamel sauce. Sprinkle with remaining cheddar cheese.
- Bake at 175 C (350 F) for 30 to 40 minutes.
