Ingredients:
2 cups flour all-purpose
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3 eggs
1 tablespoon butter softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups liquid honey
candy sprinkles
Preparation:
- Mix the flour with the baking powder.
- Whisk together sugar, vanilla, eggs and butter. Add flour mixture and make a soft dough. Roll out the dough into small quantities. Cut dough into 1/2-inch strips and cut 1/2-inch pieces from the strips.
- Put vegetable oil into a large pot and bring to 175 C (350 F). Fry the dough in four or five batches until it is golden all over. Place onto a baking pan lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Warm the honey in a saucepan. Drizzle the struffolli with the honey, sprinkle with candy sprinkles.

I can’t find the recipe for the Roman Struffoli honey balls on your web site. I saw it there but I can’t seem to locate it again. It’s the one that includes whiskey or brandy in the recipe. Can you send it to me.
Thanks
I believe the recipe you have in mind is FRITULE. You can find it here: http://www.free-old-time-cooking-recipes.com/croatian-recipes/fritule-fritters.html
Another similar italian recipe is for ZEPPOLE, but it does not include brandy: http://www.free-old-time-cooking-recipes.com/old_italian_recipes/zeppole-italian-fried-cookies-recipe.html
