Ingredients:
50 g (1.7 oz) butter
50 g (1.7 oz) flour
500 ml (1 pint) scalded milk
pinch of nutmeg
salt, white pepper
Preparation:
- In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add the flour. Mix the flour and butter together to form a smooth paste. Remove from the heat.
- Add milk. Return saucepan to medium-low heat. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring from time to time. Add salt, white pepper and nutmeg to taste.
