Ingredients:
800 g (1.75 lb) ham
300 g (10 oz) unbaked bread dough
1 egg yolk
2 tsp butter
Preparation:
- Roll bread dough into 1/2 cm thickness. Place the ham in the middle of the dough and completely wrap it in the dough. Moisten the edges with cold water and pinch them together to seal.
- Brush with the egg yolk over top. Prick with fork and put in buttered casserole dish. Bake for 40 minutes in 175 C (350 F) oven.
- Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting.
- Serve with madeira sauce.
