Ingredients:
3 lbs. meat, chopped,
1 1/2 lb, beef suet, chopped,
6 lbs. apples, chopped,
3 lbs. raisins, seeded,
2 lbs. currants,
1 lb. citron, chopped fine,
1/2 each of lemon and orange peel
1 oz. cinnamon, ground,
1/2 oz. cloves,
1 nutmeg, grated,
3 lbs. brown sugar,
1 qt. boiled cider,
1 qt. molasses,
Salt to taste.
Preparation:
- Cook all together 2 hours and seal in glass cans.
- Mince pies should always be baked with two crusts. Usually made between Thanksgiving and New Year.
