[...] What about egg pie, though? I sincerely believe that egg pie does not get the props it deserves. I haven’t had a slice in years. It looks easy enough. [...]

What size is the can of evaporated milk?

this is one of my favorite dessert and now I’ve got the recipe I’m gonna try to make this egg pie
Hi! How much in measurement is a stick of butter? Is 3-4 tbsp enough?
1 stick or cube of butter (115 grams) equals 1/2 cup or 8 tablespoons of butter.
I have tried this recipe and it really tastes great! I would recommend it. I have tried it also with just 20 gms of butter. Turned out well too but off course the one with the whole stick of butter tastes creamier!
Hi.. can i use condensed milk instead of evaporated milk?
how about fresh milk?
@khadeeja
evaporated milk = unsweetened condensed milk
Both condensed milk and evaporated milk have had about 60 percent of their water removed by evaporation. If you are using sweetened condensed milk, cut out the sugar.
If you want to use fresh milk, you can easily reduce a quantity of milk by half or more. Put it in a pan on the stove, bring it to a simmer, and let it reduce.
In the absence of evaporated milk, one option is to take some dry milk and reconstitute it using only 40% of the recommended water.
i love this Filipino dessert. thank you for posting this recipe.
