Ingredients:
1 cup milk
1 cup whipping cream
50 g (2 oz) sugar
3 egg yolks
1 vanilla stick
Preparation:
- Beat eggs and sugar until foamy.
- Pour milk and vanilla stick into a saucepan and scald it. Just before it comes to a boiling point, take vanilla stick out and pour the hot milk into the egg and sugar mixture, stirring continuously.
- Put the mixture in a double boiler and heat until it thickens, but do not bring to the boil.
- Leave it to cool. Place in the freezer for few hours, stirring the mixture from time to time.
