Ingredients:
1 cup butter ,
2 cup sugar,
1 cup heavy cream,
1/4 tsp salt,
4 cups powdered sugar,
2 tsp vanilla,
2 cups red and green candied cherries, chopped
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation:
- Line an 8-inch square baking pan with waxed paper or foil.
- Combine sugar, butter, cream and salt in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil over low heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar melts.
- Remove from heat and slowly add the powdered sugar and vanilla. Keep stirring until smooth and well combined.
- Stir in the cherries and nuts.
- Refrigerate two hours or until firm. Cut into squares.
