Ingredients:
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
3 Tbs shortening
2 Tbs sugar
3/4 cup buttermilk
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 230 C (450 F).
- Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Rub in shortening. Add sugar and buttermilk and mix to a light dough.
- Roll out dough, 3/4 inch thick. Cut biscuits and place on a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 12 to 15 minutes until golden.
